The Story of JA Paints 307
Every great journey begins with a single pour.
JA Paints 307 was born in 2020 in Rawlins, Wyoming, when Joey A picked up paint not as a business plan—but as a hobby and a creative escape. Through fluid motion, bold color, and intuition, Joey discovered the magic of pour painting. What began as experimentation quickly became a passion.
Behind every artist is a circle of belief. Joey’s greatest supporters were his muse, Laveda—his beloved mother-in-law—and his husband, Stephen. Their encouragement, love, and faith helped turn creativity into confidence. Soon, Joey’s artwork found its first home in local businesses throughout Rawlins, Wyoming, connecting art with community.
Life, however, has a way of reshaping us. After the passing of Laveda, Joey and Stephen made the brave decision to start fresh—honoring her memory by continuing forward. In 2022, they packed up their lives and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, seeking new inspiration, new beginnings, and new horizons.
Jacksonville brought color, energy, and growth. After a year of exploring the city and creating new pieces, Joey officially launched JA Paints 307 LLC on March 14, 2023 —a milestone that transformed passion into purpose.
As a small artist-owned business, JA Paints 307 began popping up across Jacksonville and surrounding areas, sharing art at local markets and pop-up events. More than just selling artwork, Joey used these opportunities to give back—supporting LGBTQIA+ non-profit organizations and donating pieces to silent auctions, ensuring that creativity could also create impact.
Today, nearly three years into this artistic journey, JA Paints 307 is still thriving in Jacksonville, Florida. Each piece tells a story of resilience, love, movement, and transformation—painted in honor of where it all began and the people who made it possible.
